Exam Review Question 6

6.    What is the difference between a solution and a heterogeneous mixture? A solution and a compound? Give an example of each.

The difference between a solution and a homogenous mixture is that a solution is homogenous, meaning it is evenly mixed throughout, but a heterogeneous is not evenly mixed, like a soup or salad and a solution is like a coke or Dr. Pepper.  Both solutions and compounds are homogenous, but compounds are chemically bonded together like sterling silver which is a mixture between silver and copper.
